Wife Gaining Weight?
used to be a wife gaining weight, and believe me, it’s not easy at a time when overweight men are “teddy bears” while women who gain the same amount of weight are called “pigs”. My husband used to nag me, tease me or worse, tell me he’s not attracted to me anymore because of my excess weight. I didn’t believe him, but just kept on eating because it seemed to be my only escape from stress.
One day my doctor told me I’d soon cut my life short if I didn’t get the extra weight off. He said my heart was like a ticking time bomb. That woke me up.
I realized I didn’t need to listen to all that judgment about my weight; I had to do it for my own sake. And so I started with what options I could work with. As a wife gaining weight, I figured I had to start at home. I took out all the junk food. Since I love to cook, so I made sure I made healthier versions of what I usually serve at meal times.
After a month, my weight went down a bit, I couldn’t believe it. I then tried my best to walk everywhere I could. My husband was surprised. Even our neighbors noticed the change in me.
It was like I was a different woman. I began taking care of myself, dressing nice and making sure I looked good whenever we stepped out. My husband actually got interested our sex life once again and the “wife gaining weight” was no longer an issue. My metabolism actually went up with all the sex! And wonder of wonders, my husband decided to lose weight with me.
It’s been three years and I haven’t gone back to that period in my life again. I used to think I was a wife gaining weight because I was an emotional eater, but losing weight helped me feel better than a tub of ice cream. I now have more confidence to go after what I want in life.
If a simple housewife can do it, you can too. Just believe in yourself more than in what anybody says about you. Do it for yourself and nothing else, and you won’t have any regrets.
